Woah! Bolinora. It’s been a while since I’ve seen you on my dash :0

You know, it’d be cute if Jinora ended up crushing on him at some point.

Mako’s garnered her attention by virtue of being the tall, dreamy stuff of romantic sagas, yes, but then Bolin would do things like tell her ridiculous Uncle-Sokka style jokes, play with her siblings, openly admire her for her intelligence and fighting skills, and quite likely impress her with his odd, light-footed, overall freer style of earthbending himself.

Bolin would find the crush amusing and precocious, and tell Jinora (in the most gentlemanly, gentlest way possible) that she’ll get bored of him after a while anyway and would be much better off sticking to people her own age. Okay? Okay. 

(Jinora, of course, will make no such promises.) 

…Give it time, I think. He’ll come into his own, and she’ll come into her maturity, and there are only six years between them anyway. 

Hmm.

You realize that this would mean that Bolin would be dating Aang’s grand…daught…errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…..

…they wouldn’t.

….Aang would approve: mostly because Bolin reminds him of, well, himself, and has read How to Be a Man from cover to cover several times.

 And they probably wouldn’t.

But then again, I’d finally get my Earth and Air pairing. Bisons and Badgermoles. Substance and Freedom. Changing directions when met with resistance and digging in to face it head-on. Other stuff… I was being jocoserious before, but now that I’ve let myself entertain the idea a little longer….

Bizarre. 

So Mako and Korra are fire and water, and Bolin and Jinora are earth and air.

Actually, that’s not the right picture for this situation…

Not sure how many of you bore witness to this post and the notes that followed, but the conclusion I came to (very late) last night was that this pairing actually has some pretty amusing potential, if it starts with Jinora developing a precocious crush on Bolin and then building a friendship from there: they’re about 18 and 24 here, respectively. 

Also, there should be more art focusing on that stubborn trademark forelock curl of Bolin’s. Because of, well, reasons.
